Official NHS England supplementary information published on 20 May 2026 clarifies that practice-level GP reimbursement funding is modelled as £4.57 × practice adjusted population at 1 January 2026, with claims through CQRS Local and ICB approval.

GP reimbursement eligibility and claim caps

The official 20 May 2026 NHS England supplementary update also confirms reimbursement caps of £152,900 per eligible GP, or £155,698 with London weighting, and additional salaried GP sessions capped at £90.61 per hour, or £92.27 with London weighting.

Funding logic update

Enhanced Access weekly minutes use adjusted population, IIF is labelled as an indicative maximum estimate, and the GP reimbursement output now uses the official NHS England £4.57 × practice adjusted population basis.

This free PCN calculator helps GP practices, practice managers and Primary Care Networks estimate funding for 2026/27. It works as a practical ready reckoner, PCN funding calculator, ARRS calculator and GP funding calculator in one place, bringing together indicative planning values for ARRS, IIF, enhanced access, Core PCN funding, care home premium and practice-level GP reimbursement funding.

Use the calculator to select your PCN, review network practices, test ARRS workforce scenarios and explore funding summaries. The tool is intended for practical planning support and quick board-level discussions rather than as a substitute for formal financial advice or local ICB confirmation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ARRS funding?

ARRS stands for Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme. This calculator lets PCNs test different ARRS staffing assumptions and see the likely effect on indicative funding and remaining planning envelope.

How is PCN funding calculated?

The tool combines published or indicative PCN DES planning values such as weighted list size-based payments, IIF, enhanced access and ARRS reimbursement assumptions to support local scenario modelling.

Can this calculator be used for all PCNs in England?

Yes. The calculator is designed as a national planning tool for Primary Care Networks in England, although outputs should still be checked against current national guidance and local ICB information.

Frequently asked questions about the PCN DES calculator

What does this PCN calculator estimate?

It provides indicative planning estimates for 2026/27 covering ARRS, IIF, enhanced access and selected practice-level GP reimbursement values.

Can this be used as a final financial figure?

No. The outputs are for guidance only and should be checked against national contract documentation, local assumptions and ICB-confirmed information.

Why does the calculator mention weighted list sizes?

Weighted list sizes are commonly used in primary care funding calculations to reflect workload and population need rather than raw registered list size alone.
